Dr. Amr Abdin is a cardiologist trained in both Syria and Germany, with extensive expertise in heart failure and cardiac implantable electronic devices. He currently serves as Associate Professor of Cardiology and Head of Device Therapy at Saarland University Hospital, and as Chairman of the Syrian National Heart Failure Working Group.
He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading cardiovascular journals. He is actively involved in several international multicenter research collaborations. Over the past four years, he led the development of the ESC Quality Indicator set for heart failure care and the ESC Quality Indicators for cardiac pacing.
Through leadership roles in both high-resource and resource-limited healthcare systems, he works to integrate clinical excellence, research innovation, and pragmatic implementation of heart failure care, with a strong focus on guideline adoption and quality improvement.
