Dr. Panteleimon Papakonstantinou, MD, MSc, PhD, FESC is a board-certified cardiologist and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellow at the Electrophysiology Lab & Atrial Fibrillation Institute, Mater Private Hospital and Cardiovascular Research Institute in Dublin, Ireland. He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Crete and completed his cardiology residency at Evangelismos Hospital, Athens. He earned his PhD and underwent postdoctoral clinical fellowship training in atrial fibrillation at the University of Crete and the 1st Cardiology Department of the University of Athens. Dr. Papakonstantinou’s clinical and research focus lies in invasive management of cardiac arrhythmias—particularly atrial fibrillation—as well as stroke prevention and anticoagulation therapy. He serves as Co-Chair of the Education and Scientific Programme Committee of the ESC Council on Stroke, and Secretary of the Primary Care and Risk Factor Management Section of the EAPC.
