Helen has a PhD award from the University of Warwick that was funded by a British Heart Foundation fellowship. Helen is a registered nurse, qualifying in 1993, completed a BSC nursing honours degree in 1996, a masters in advancing nursing practice in 2014 and a National Institute of Health Research Masters by Research in 2018. Helen has 20 years experience in cardiac specialist nursing working in cardiac rehabilitation (7 years), community heart failure (3 years) and an arrhythmia and syncope nurse (10 years) . Helen has presented at national events in United Kingdom and at EuroHeart care. One of her specialist interests includes Postural orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). Helen was the President for the British Association for Nursing in Cardiovascular Care (2022-24) and sat on council from 2016-2025. Helen has published in a number of journals and is a peer reviewer for nursing journals.
