Dr. Ziad Hijazi is an Associate Professor of Cardiology at Uppsala University, a Senior Clinical Researcher at Uppsala Clinical Research Center (UCR), and a Senior Consultant Cardiologist at Uppsala University Hospital, Sweden. He holds a Ph.D. in medical sciences and has extensive experience in biomarker research and evaluating risk-benefit relationships in atrial fibrillation. His expertise spans both hypothesis-driven and data-driven research. Dr. Hijazi has served as a national coordinator, steering committee member, and coordinating investigator in several large-scale clinical trials in cardiovascular medicine, including clinical events committees. Additionally, he is an editorial board member for Circulation.
