While Prof. Dr. Yukio Ozaki is an interventional cardiologist having specialty in the field coronary imaging such as OCT, IVUS, NIRS, angioscopy and CT angiography. While Dr. Yukio Ozaki is the first Japanese fellow under the supervision of Prof. Patrick W. Serruys in the Thoraxcenter Erasmus University Rotterdam, he defended his thesis entitled “Clinical Application of IVUS and QCA to Assess PCI and Atherosclerosis” (2005). Based on Rotterdam experience, Prof. Dr. Yukio Ozaki proposed for the first time that intact fibrous cap ACS (IFC-ACS) by OCT and angioscopy would be plaque erosion (EHJ 2011). Yukio, Sadako and Jagat reported that positive remodeling and low attenuation plaque by CT angiography would predict the occurrence of ACS in the future and predict the long-term prognosis (JACC 2009 & JACC 2015). While he is recently PI of REWRAPS study to seeking for the better anticoagulation therapy in patients with AF and DES, he is also PI in Master DAPT study in Japanese substudy.
