Dr. Luisa Mestroni, MD, FACC, FAHA, is Professor of Medicine/Cardiology in the Division of Cardiology, University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, and Director of the Molecular Genetic Program of the CU-Cardiovascular Institute. For over two decades, the goal of her research has been the discovery of the genetic causes and the mechanisms leading to cardiomyopathies and heart failure, conditions characterized by with high mortality and morbidity, and novel therapeutic approaches. Her research is supported by International funding including NIH, AHA, ERC, Fondation Leducq Transatlantic Network of Excellence.
