Dr Rohan Wijesurendra MBBChir MA (Cantab) MSc DPhil (Oxon) FRCP FESC is a Senior Clinical Research Fellow at Oxford Population Health, University of Oxford, and Honorary Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Oxford, United Kingdom. He completed medical training at Cambridge University with several prizes and scholarships, before moving to Oxford for higher training and specialisation in Cardiology. He completed his DPhil (PhD) in Cardiovascular Medicine in Oxford in 2018. His research combines large-scale trials in cardiovascular disease with more mechanistic clinical studies; he has particular interests in atrial fibrillation and cardiometabolic risk factor modification. He continues to undertake a wide range of clinical work in cardiac rhythm management, including diagnostic electrophysiology, simple and complex ablation, and device implantation and extraction.
