Dr. Macedo, MHS, PhD, FESC, is a cardiologist and professor at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa de São Paulo (FCMSCSP), where she leads the Cardio-Oncology, Cardiomyopathy and Valvular Heart Disease Service. She serves on the ESC Council of Cardio-Oncology, is Vice President of the Brazilian Society of Thrombosis and Hemostasis, and Scientific Director of the Cardio-Oncology Group of the Brazilian Society of Cardiology. She leads the CNPq-certified research group Research Center in Cardio-Oncology, Cardiometabolism and Clinical Cardiology Applied to Systemic Diseases, focusing on cardiovascular effects of cancer therapies, metabolic disorders, and systemic diseases. Dra. Macedo is Section Editor for Cardio-Oncology (BMC), Associate Editor for JACC: Cardio-Oncology, and reviewer for The Lancet Oncology, Heart, and others. Fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish. She is also engaged in community-based volunteer work and patient advocacy. She enjoys gardening and tennis.
