Professor Marianne Benn

Professor Marianne Benn, MD, PhD, DMSc, is a senior consultant at the Department of Clinical Biochemistry, Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen; Professor of Clinical Biochemistry with a focus on Translational Medicine; and Co-chair of the BRIDGE – Translational Excellence Programme at the University of Copenhagen. Her research focuses on genetic epidemiology, using Mendelian randomization to assess the causal effects of environmental and biological factors on cardiovascular disease, predict unintended drug effects, and explore mechanisms linking risk factors such as obesity, LDL cholesterol, and diabetes to CVD. She is an active member of the European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS), contributing to its efforts in advancing research, education, and clinical practice in atherosclerosis and cardiovascular prevention.
