Member of:

European Society of Cardiology

Dr. Edina Cenko, MD, PhD, FESC, is a clinical cardiologist and cardiovascular researcher at the University of Bologna, where her work focuses on clinical research in cardiovascular disease. Her research addresses the pathophysiological, therapeutic, and prognostic aspects of ischemic heart disease, with particular emphasis on sex- and gender-related differences, risk stratification, and non-obstructive coronary artery disease, She has served as an investigator in multiple international research projects and registries examining the epidemiology, management, and outcomes of acute and chronic coronary syndromes, as well as sex- and gender-specific mechanisms in ischemic heart disease and heart failure. Her work has been published in leading international journals, and she currently serves as Chairperson of the ESC Working Group on Coronary Pathophysiology and Microcirculation.
