Dr. Chung is the Valere Potter Menefee Professor of Nursing at Vanderbilt University. She is internationally recognized as a leading nurse researcher who has advanced the state of the science in research on the patient with cardiovascular disease and their caregiver dyads. Dr. Chung’s collaboration on novel dyadic interventions to improve patient and family caregiver outcomes in cardiovascular disease with investigators across Europe and Asia has had a global impact. Her successful program research has been continuously funded by the National Institute of Nursing Research and the American Heart Association. Dr. Chung has been recognized for her excellence in cardiovascular nursing research, having received multiple awards. She is a fellow in the American Heart Association and the American Academy of Nursing, and an inductee of the Sigma Theta Tau International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame.
