Associate Professor Ashwin Venkateshvaran is a Staff Scientist in the Department of Diagnostics and Intervention at Umeå University. He obtained his PhD from KTH, Stockholm in 2016 and Docenture from Lund University in 2025. His current research focuses on multimodal cardiovascular imaging in heart failure and infiltrative cardiomyopathies, with a particular interest in early diagnosis, disease phenotyping, and risk stratification. Ashwin is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) and the American Society of Echocardiography (FASE). He has contributed to international imaging recommendations in valvular heart disease, serves on expert committees, and is regularly invited to contribute to faculty activities at both the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging and the American Society of Echocardiography annual meetings. Outside of work, he practices mindfulness and enjoys classical music.
