Dr. Caspi is the head of heart failure at Rambam Health Care Campus and the director of Rambam’s Cardiovascular Research and Innovation Unit. Dr. Caspi is the head of the laboratory for cardiovascular precision medicine and serves as an assistant professor and a principal investigator at the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, Technion- Israel Institute of Technology and the Clinical Research Institute at Rambam (CRIR). Dr. Caspi earned his M.D. with honors from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in 2003. He conducted his Ph.D. studies at Prof. Lior Gepstien’s laboratory focusing on strategies for efficient generation of cardiomyocytes, designing drug screening platforms and developing myocardial regeneration using human pluripotent stem cells. In his studies, he was among the pioneers to demonstrate the ability of human stem cell derived cardiomyocytes to improve myocardial function in the infarcted myocardium.
