Dr. Elena Tessitore is a senior cardiologist at the University Hospital of Geneva, Switzerland, with over 15 years of experience in clinical practice. She earned her medical degree from the University of Turin, Italy. Following her graduation, Dr. Tessitore pursued a postdoctoral research fellowship at Columbia University in New York City. She then gained valuable experience working at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, where she dealt with a population at high cardiovascular risk. Dr. Tessitore is an active member of the Secondary Prevention and Rehabilitation Section of the European Association of Preventive Cardiology (EAPC). Her research interests are primarily focused on cardiovascular primary and secondary prevention, as well as exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation. Although her main area of expertise is preventive cardiology, Dr. Tessitore is also deeply involved in teaching and research, with a particular emphasis on gender differences in cardiovascular risk factors.
