Professor Horst Olschewski

I graduated in Medicine at Justus Liebig University Giessen, Germany in 1985. I am certified as Specialist for Internal Medicine, Pulmonology, Infectious Diseases and Intensive Care Medicine. I have developed diagnostics and new therapies for pulmonary hypertension since 1993. Since 1998 I have actively participated in all World Symposia on Pulmonary Hypertension (WSPH). Since 2005 I am Professor of Pulmonology (Professor of Medicine) and Director of Division of Pulmonology at the Department of Internal Medicine, LKH University Hospital Graz, Austria. My scientific interests are diagnostics and therapy of pulmonary hypertension, interstitial lung disease and obstructive lung disease. I am Vice Chair of Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Lung Vascular Research in Graz and have been Chair of AG25 of the German Society of Cardiology. I am holding a patent on a Biomarker for the diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension (PH) US 11,275,093 B2 .
