Denilson Albuquerque, MD, PhD, FESC, FACC is a Full Professor of Cardiology at the State University of Rio de Janeiro, and Professor in the Post-Graduate Program at D´Or Institute of Research and Teaching (IDOR) where he also serves as Chairman of Research Ethics Committee. He has been elected as part of The Administrative Council and Scientific Committee of the Brazilian Cardiology Society since 2022. He received his medical degree from the Federal University of Pernambuco, Brazil and completed his cardiology training at Hospital dos Servidores in Rio de Janeiro. Dr. Albuquerque earned his Masters Degree in cardiology at State University of Rio de Janeiro and his Doctorship Degree in heart failure at Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP). Dr. Albuquerque served as former President of the Rio de Janeiro Cardiology Society in 1996, the 2000 National Brazilian Congress and 2002 Heart Failure Brazilian Congress.
