Professor Philippe Menasche

Dr Menasché graduated from the Universities of Paris (MD, 1979) and Paris-Orsay (PhD, 1987). He was appointed Professor of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at the University of Paris in 1988. He acts as a cardiac surgeon in the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery of the Hôpital Européen Georges Pompidou and is co-responsible for a research team in the Inserm Unit 970 (Paris Cardiovascular Research Center) dedicated to stem cell-based therapy for heart failure. He also holds a position of Visiting Professor at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
