Assistant Professor Stefan Michael Sattler

Copenhagen University Hospital, Copenhagen (Denmark)

Member of:

European Society of Cardiology
European Heart Rythm Association

Stefan’s research focuses on translational animal models in the field of cardiac diseases. He developes rodent and porcine models of cardiac ischemia, investigating its effect on arrhythmogenesis and subsequent sudden cardiac death as well as associated risk factors and preventive treatments. Further, he is involved in atrial fibrillation research in equine and porcine models. Currently he is working on development of ischemic heart failure models and obstructive sleep apnea models in pigs using electrophysiological mapping. Stefan aims at improving clinical treatment and risk stratification by means of translational animal models.
