Professor Arbustini graduated in Medicine and post-graduated in Cardiology, Pathologic Anatomy and Genetics. She is currently Director of the Centre for Inherited Cardiovascular Diseases and of the Transplant Research Area of the IRCCS Foundation Policlinico San Matteo in Pavia, Italy. Her research interests include: clinical and molecular genetics of monogenic diseases, both cardiovascular (heritable cardiomyopathies) and non-cardiovascular (inherited lung diseases, familial cancer); pharmacogenetics; gene expression; pathology of cardiovascular diseases and of transplanted thoracic organs. Professor Arbustini participates in several national and international collaborative research projects. She coordinated the EU-funded INHERITANCE 2010-2013 and was the clinical partner in NISTAS (Non-invasive screening of the status of the vascular system) 2014-2016. She coordinated the national project GIMaF on Fabry Disease and multidisciplinary projects on inheeritable cardiomyopathies.
