Associate Professor Paulo Bettencourt

Born in 12/03/1965, Paulo Bettencourt) is Professsor of Internal Medicine in Oporto Faculty of Medicine since 2006. He is also Head of Internal Medicine in Hospital CUF Porto since 2016,. He is lecturer of the Doctoral Program in Cardiovascular Sceinces of UnIC since 2009. Paulo Bettencourt has been involved in Heart Failure research since 1996.Over the years, he made contributions to the understanding and clinical applications of biomarkers in Heart Failure and on proposing several approaches clinical strategies in the fields associated with potential improvement in outcome of Heart Failure patients. The research contributions in the biomarkers field from it´s clinical utility to are significant ranging from it´s clinical utility to the the demonstration of it´s value in monitoring Heart Failure patients. He as 197 publications on Journals with IF and a H index of 33.
