Born in Athens, qualified from medical school in Strasbourg-France in 1979 (Universite Louis Pasteur). Trained in Cardiology at Hammersmith Hospital (1984-88). Became lecturer in Cardiology 1988-1991, Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant Cardiologist in 1991. In 2006 was elected Professor of Cardiology at Imperial College London and the Hammersmith Hospital. In June 2014, I was elected Professor of Cardiology at the National & Kapodestrian University of Athens, First Cardiology Department, Ippokrateion General Hospital.
