Doctor Henry Oluwasefunmi Savage

Dr Savage is a consultant cardiologist who specialises in the management of heart failure and implantation of complex cardiac rhythm devices. He trained at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London and Papworth Hospital, Cambridge before completing advanced studies in heart failure at the University Hospital of Zurich. He currently leads heart failure services at the Mid and South Essex Foundation Trust and the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre Basildon and is a visiting Associate Professor at Anglia Ruskin University. He was awarded a Doctorate in Medicine, MD (Res) at Imperial college London in 2014, and during that period of research was awarded the Young Investigator for Clinical Research by the European Society of Cardiology, Heart Failure Association for his work on assessment of sleep disordered breathing in heart failure. His research interests are in the area of prediction of heart failure decompensation utilising novel biomarkers and implanted cardiac devices.
