THOMAS MARWICK, MBBS, PhD, MPH Tom Marwick is the Head of the Imaging Research lab at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute. He was previously Director at the Baker Institute (2016-23), the Menzies Institute (2012-15), and Head of Cardiovascular Imaging at Cleveland Clinic. His education was completed at University of Melbourne, Australia; University of Louvain, Belgium and Harvard. His main contributions are in clinical research and research training. He has supervised nearly 50 research higher-degree students. He was one of the initiators of stress echocardiography, and has made contributions to the prognostic evidence underlying cardiovascular imaging. His main research interests relate to detection of early cardiovascular disease and cost-effective application of cardiac imaging techniques for treatment. He has published nearly 1000 papers, reviews, chapters and editorials, and is an Associate Editor at JACC and Executive Editor at JACC-Cardiovascular Imaging.
