Dr. Marta Cobo Marcos is a cardiologist at Hospital Universitario Puerta de Hierro Majadahonda (Madrid, Spain), where she has worked since 2008. She leads the Community Heart Failure Unit and directs the Cardiorenal–Metabolic Outpatient Clinic, providing multidisciplinary care for complex patients. One of her main motivations is to improve heart failure care pathways and advance research in congestion management, diuretic strategies, and cardiorenal–metabolic disease. Her research focuses on congestion assessment, natriuresis-guided decongestion, chloride homeostasis, and optimization of diuretic therapy across acute and ambulatory settings, integrating pathophysiology with clinical practice. She is an active member of the Cardiorenal Disease Study Group of the ESC Heart Failure Association (2020–2022, 2024–2026). Nationally, she founded and coordinates the Cardiorenal Syndrome Working Group of the Spanish Society of Cardiology and is President-Elect of its Heart Failure Association.
