European Society of Cardiology

I am a physician-scientist focused on the prevention, detection and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Over the past 15 years I have led local, national and international research collaborations in the use of lung ultrasound for the detection and quantification of pulmonary congestion in people with or at risk for heart failure, including HFpEF. As a board-certified emergency physician, I have translated this evidence into international guidelines and clinical care across several medical specialties. Additionally, I have led and contributed to early and late-stage clinical trials testing novel therapies for individuals with cardiovascular diseases and obesity. As an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School, I am a passionate educator, speaker and mentor who thrives to train and advance the careers of the next generation of physicians and scientists. I also serve on several editorial boards and writing committees for the ESC and the AHA/ACC Guidelines.
