José Fuster is Associate Professor and Group Leader at the Spanish National Center for Cardiovascular Research (CNIC) in Madrid (Spain), where he is also the Coordinator of the Scientific Program on Novel Mechanisms of Atherosclerosis. His research group at CNIC investigates the interplay between the hematopoietic and the cardiovascular systems in the context of cardiovascular disease, with a particular focus on the pathophysiology of atherosclerosis and heart failure. He is considered a leading expert in the role of age-related clonal hematopoiesis in cardiovascular disease.
