Doctor Reijo Laaksonen

Dr. Laaksonen is a clinical pharmacologist specialized in cardiovascular pharmacology. He did post-doc training at the Clinical Research Institute of Montreal with profs. Jean Davignon and Nabil Seidah. After post-doctoral training Dr. Laaksonen worked as a visiting scientist at Free University of Brussels. Prior to joining Zora Biosciences he has worked as Chief Research Scientist at Viikki Drug Discovery Technology Center, Helsinki and also five years as Research Professor at Tampere University and Medical Director of the Finnish Clinical Biobank Tampere. Currently Dr. Laaksonen holds a Research Director position at Tampere University and is the head of the Finnish Cardiovascular Research Center Tampere (https://research.tuni.fi/fcrct/). Dr. Laaksonen is co-inventor of over 30 patents, has published nearly 200 original scientific articles and is the coordinator of the EU-funded “CoroPrevention” program (https://coroprevention.eu/).
