Frederik de Lange is a cardiologist with special interests in general cardiology and diagnosing / treating patients with syncope. His PhD on the development of the cardiac conducting system. He is now head of the outpatient clinic of the Amsterdam UMC Heart Centre and the managing cardiologist of the Syncope Unit in the AMC. This is a tertiary outpatient clinic facility which is part of the cardiology department. He was involved as a Taskforce member writing the 2018 ESC Guidelines on Syncope and is now listed as a chairperson for the forthcoming ESC Guideline on syncope planned for 2027. His research project is the Fainting Assessment STudy (F.A.ST) a research line comprises the clinical benefit of the initial syncope evaluation in all levels of health care and is supported by public/govermental funding (ZonMw/NWO) and grants from health care companies.
