Mr James Cross

James Cross is a second-year MD/JD student at Yale School of Medicine. Before medical school, he completed his undergraduate degree in Neuroscience and Statistics/Data Science at Yale University (2023). While at Yale, James has worked in diverse AI research settings spanning cardiology, cardio-oncology, and neuroscience. These efforts include developing novel cardiovascular risk scores for cancer patients, applying large language models to accelerate cardiac MRI research workflows, developing the first foundation model for fMRI recordings (“BrainLM”), and deploying a novel multi-modal BRCA-prediction algorithm in a pharmaceutical clinical trial (NCT02854436). Outside of academics, he enjoys Scrabble and competing on the Yale Club Swim team.
