Dr. Ummay Afroza is a public health professional and Senior Program Officer at the National Heart Foundation Hospital & Research Institute, Dhaka. She holds an MBBS from the Delta Medical College and an MPH in Epidemiology from National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine. She specializes in epidemiological research, nutrition, cardiovascular health, and public health program implementation. She has contributed to nationally significant projects on packaged food analysis for salt content, development of national salt and sodium strategy, salt reduction and front-of-pack labeling, supported by WHO, Resolve to Save Lives, and the Gates Foundation. Her work is published in peer-reviewed journals, and she is proficient in SPSS, STATA, R, NVivo, and qualitative research tools. A life member of the Epidemiological Association of Bangladesh, she regularly presents at scientific conferences. Dr. Afroza is committed to advancing evidence-based health strategies and policy in Bangladesh.
