Dr Sarah Alexander is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Accredited Exercise Scientist within the Cardiometabolic Health and Exercise Physiology laboratory at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute. She received her PhD from Deakin University in 2023. Sarah's research aims to understand the interplay between reproductive hormones and cardiometabolic health and disease in women through epidemiological, interventional and mechanistic research. Sarah is currently involved in the “ETHEL” study, a clinical trial investigating the effects of testosterone treatment on exercise tolerance and functional capacity in women with subclinical heart failure. Sarah is also involved with the "REFINE" trial, which tests the efficacy of a chocolate milk drink to test an individual's risk of heart failure and diabetes.
