K. Handa, MD, PhD Candidate is a national board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon working in Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at Osaka University, Osaka, Japan, specializing in structural heart, coronary artery, and aortic root surgery. He is also currently a PhD student at Osaka University, conducting research on mRNA-based therapies for heart failure using murine and rabbit myocardial infarction models. His work also focuses on evaluating the efficacy of intracoronary delivery of mRNA using drug delivery systems such as polyplex nanomicelles and lipid nanoparticles. He is also a national board-certified cardiologist with extensive knowledge and experience in cardiovascular disease. To date, he has published 16 peer-reviewed articles as 1st author, secured two competitive research grants, and has received two academic awards. Additionally, he received an award for excellence in coronary artery anastomosis surgical techniques.
