Miss Chloe Desmedt

Chloé Desmedt (RN, MSc) is a Doctoral student at the Academic Centre for Nursing and Midwifery (Department of Public Health and Primary Care) and the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences, KU Leuven, Belgium. Her PhD project focuses on bridging the gap in palliative care for patients with cardiovascular disease. The aim of the project is to develop a Natural Language Processing based algorithm that can identify patients with palliative care needs from a combination of structured data and clinical notes in the electronic health record. Her research areas are cardiovascular nursing, palliative care and artificial intelligence.
