Doctor Prathap Kanagala

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Trust, Liverpool (United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland)

Member of:

European Society of Cardiology

Dr Kanagala (MBBS, MRCP, PhD, FESC, FHFA) is a Honorary Clinical Associate Professor (University of Liverpool) and Consultant Cardiologist at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Trust. His primary interests are in heart failure and cardiac imaging. He obtained his PhD from the University of Leicester for his work related to characterising HFpEF with cardiac MRI. His awards to date include: University PhD prize; Young Investigator Award (Runner-up) at the British Society for Heart Failure (2015) and Early Career Award (Clinical) Finalist at the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (2018). He has previously held positions in both the Communications and Education Committees of the British Society of Echocardiography delivering multiple National Guideline protocols as either lead or co-author and has published extensively in the fields of heart failure, cardiac MRI and biomarkers. He is currently involved in numerous multi-centre trials, primarily as Principal Investigator.
