Dr David Quek is a senior consultant cardiologist at the Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur. He is a medical graduate from the University of Malaya, and trained at the Middlesex and National Heart Hospitals, London. He previously taught at the National University of Malaysia, KL.
His clinical research and interests are in clinical and interventional cardiology, with particular interest in holistic acute and chronic care of CAD, including acute coronary syndromes, primary PCI in STEMI. Lately his interests have extended to preventive cardiology, CV risk reduction and optimal pharmacotherapeutics. He is committed to networking outreach programs and advocates ardently for extending cardiovascular education, advancement and growth in underserved Asian regions.
He has been president of the National Heart Association of Malaysia, Asean Federation of Cardiology, and is currently Secretary-General of Asian-Pacific Society of Cardiology. He is editor in chief of the e-ASEAN Heart Journal.
