Consultant in Internal Medicine and Hypertension | University Hospital Basel, Switzerland Dr. Thenral Socrates is a consultant physician at the University Hospital Basel with specialization in internal medicine and arterial hypertension. Clinically, her focus is on women’s cardiovascular health across the life course, including pregnancy-related hypertension, preeclampsia, postpartum hypertension and peri/postmenopausal cardiovascular risk. Her research is centered on hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and their long-term cardiometabolic consequences. She is the principal investigator of the Swiss Postpartum Hypertension (PPHT) Registry, a prospective cohort of over 500 women, aimed at understanding the mechanisms and progression of cardiovascular risk after preeclampsia and gestational hypertension. She is a certified ESH and ISH Hypertension Specialist and serves as faculty member of the ESH and is Vice-Chair of the ESH Working Group Hypertension in Women.
