Shyon earned his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the Cockrell School of Engineering at the University of Texas, graduating with Honors. He completed coursework in Thermodynamics and Transport Phenomena in Living Systems in DAMTP at Cambridge University. After graduation, Shyon enrolled in medical school at UT Southwestern, and graduated with an M.D with Distinction in Research and as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honor society. He started his internal medicine residency at Stanford University Hospital, was awarded a Stanford Cardiovascular Institute Seed Grant for his project "An Artificial Intelligence Approach Utilizing Radiomic-Derived Calcium Features on Calcium Scoring CT (CAC-CT) in Cardiovascular Risk Stratification" (Co-PI) and in 2025, he was selected for a Young Investigator Award from the National Lipid Association. His interests include the clinical integration of AI-based diagnostic algorithms and preventive health advocacy through public policy.
