Ms Ling Tao

Ling is reading for DPhil in Population Health at the University of Oxford. She joined the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit (NPEU) in October 2023, supervised by Professor Marian Knight, Dr Rema Ramakrishnan, and Dr Joris Hemelaar. Her DPhil research focuses on maternal cardiac disease screening. Her DPhil course is generously funded by the CSC-COI MD/PhD Scholarship Programme. Prior to joining the Oxford Population Health in Oxford, she was studying Clinical Medicine of an 8-year Program at Xiangya School of Medicine, Central South University, China. She completed her Bachelor of Medicine degree in 2022 and then started studying Doctor of Medicine. Her previous research focused on clinical observational studies in cardiology. Alongside her research, Ling sincerely hopes to make contributions to improving female welfare and pregnancy healthcare. She also enjoys watching drama and concerts in her spare time.
