Doctor Cristian Martignani

Cristian Martignani is a consultant cardiologist at IRCCS S. Orsola University Hospital, University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy. He graduated in 1995 (magna cum laude) at University of Bologna, Italy, and undertook his postgraduated training at the Institute of Cardiology, University of Bologna. He completed his academic career, graduating with a PHD in Pathophysiology of congestive heart failure. During that period he joined a fellowship at the Johns-Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, USA, under the supervision of Prof David Kass, investigating topics regarding cardiac biomechanics and experimental pharmacology in the treatment of acute heart failure. In the clinical field, he has always been interested in arrhythmias (pharmacological and ablation treatment), prevention of sudden cardiac death, heart failure. He is investigator in numerous clinical trial on drugs, cardiac implantable devices and ablation. He is author and co-author of over 240 scientific papers and 6 book chapters.
