Sebastian Buhl Rasmussen, MD, PhD, is a postdoctoral researcher at the MeCiSu Research Center, Odense University Hospital, Denmark, specializing in mechanical circulatory support and organ protection after cardiac surgery or intensive cardiac conditions. His research spans perioperative medicine, translational large animal models, basic science, clinical research, and machine learning methodology. He is a Lundbeck Foundation Early-Career Clinician Scientist Fellow and has authored more than 17 peer-reviewed publications. Sebastian is currently pursuing specialist training in anesthesiology. Outside research, he is a husband, father of two boys, and enjoys tennis and Nordic skiing in the winter months. He speaks Danish and English fluently.
