Pedro Kisali Pallangyo, MD, is a Specialist Physician and Public Health Expert leading the Research, Training, and Public Outreach Unit at the Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute (JKCI) in Tanzania. He holds a Master of Medicine (MMed) in Internal Medicine from Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Dartmouth Medical School, USA. He also serves as an Honorary Lecturer at MUHAS. Dr. Pallangyo has authored 64 peer-reviewed publications, including 47 as the first author, with a total of 409 citations. His contributions to cardiovascular research have earned him prestigious honors, including the Young African Researcher’s Award (2017) and the Paul Dudley White International Scholar Award (2024). His research has significantly contributed to refining risk stratification and management strategies for hypertension and heart failure in Tanzania. He is actively pursuing research funding to advance studies on cardiovascular risk reduction
