Dr Mercader is a graduate of Davao Medical School Foundation and had his Residency Training in Internal Medicine at his university hospital. During his residency training, he participated in various national and regional quizbowl competitions of various subspecialties and competed in interhospital didactic competitions. He served as the chief resident during his last year of residency whereby he focused on research, community develoment, and administrative work. He is fluent in tagalog and english and knows few turkish. He loves dancing, epic and orchestral music, tv shows, movies, and sports particualrly badminton and table tennis.
