Liz has been qualified as a pharmacist for 40 years. The early part of her career was spent in hospital pharmacy leading a clinical service in Medicines Information and Medical and Elderly Care wards. For the main part of her career, she worked in primary care pharmacy, managing a team of clinical pharmacists and pharmacy technicians providing medicines optimisation services in general medical practices. A member of the UK Q community, she has a special interest in quality improvement work in primary care and has participated in several national collaboratives to enhance patient safety and experience of medicines. She is interested in Antimicrobial Stewardship and Cardiovascular Disease Prevention. Since 2021, Liz has devoted herself to improvement work in cardiovascular disease prevention in English primary care, working for the NHS Benchmarking Network as their CVDPREVENT Quality Improvement Lead. Liz is of mixed nationality parentage and speaks English, Spanish, and French fluently.
