Dr. Gould is a clinical coronary physiologist and non-invasive cardiologist recognized for pioneering first discovery, reporting and development over 50 years of fundamental concepts in coronary physiology first experimentally and then translating them into core knowledge now clinically applied to evaluate patients for CAD. His translational research began in the experimental lab on fundamental pressure flow characteristics of coronary artery stenosis in 1970 published in 1974. These pressure flow studies of experimental coronary stenosis established the basis of current clinical invasive and non-invasive coronary physiology in the management of coronary artery disease. His research evolved from the basic experimental concepts, their transition to initial human studies to clinical proof and now world-wide application comprising the essentially entire knowledge base of current clinical coronary pathophysiology used in all cardiovascular medicine world-wide.
