Mr Luuk Kieviet

University Medical Center Utrecht, Utrecht (Netherlands (The))

From the start of his medical studies in 2019, Luuk has sought an extra challenge in addition to the normal curriculum. This challenge came in the form of the Honors Program Bachelor, an extracurricular program in which students are given the opportunity to participate in scientific research. Given a great interest in cardiology, Luuk started contributing to research in the field of heartfailure investigating follow up after hearttransplantation. In the mean time he contributed to LVAD research as well. In addition to the personal research, he also wrote an article with other Honors students about the use of synephrine as pre-workout supplement and cardiovascular complaints. This was published in the journal Cardiac Toxicology. In addition to doing research, Luuk swims 3 times a week at the student swimming association and occasionally swims a competition.
