Sigrun Halvorsen is Professor of Cardiology at University of Oslo and Head of the Department of Cardiology at Oslo University Hospital Ullevål, Norway. She is a Fellow of the ESC, member of the ESC Committee for Practice Guidelines 2018-2022, and Treasurer of the Association for Acute Cardiovascular Care from 2022. Professor Halvorsen is the chair of the 2022 ESC guidelines on cardiovascular assessment and management of patients undergoing non-cardiac surgery. She has also been co-author of several previous ESC guidelines (2012 and 2017 ESC guidelines for management of ST-elevation myocardial infarction, 2021 ESC guidelines for prevention of cardiovascular disease) and ESC position papers. Halvorsen has served on steering committees for numerous international trials in cardiology, particularly in the field of anti thrombotic treatment. Her main research areas are ACS, atrial fibrillation and antithrombotic therapy, and she has published more than 220 peer-reviewed scientific papers.
