Yaël Vanharen, an experienced electrophysiology nurse, is currently pursuing a PhD in cardio-obstetrics. Her commitment to improving the care of pregnant women with cardiovascular disease is both commendable and vital, as cardiovascular disease remains a leading cause of mortality in pregnant women. Her work is characterised by a holistic approach, encompassing research and initiatives focused on improving health outcomes and providing essential psychosocial support to these vulnerable individuals during pregnancy. Yaël Vanharen is actively involved in the Belgian Working Group of Cardiovascular Nursing (BWGCVN), the Young Committee (YoCo) of the Association of Cardiovascular Nursing and Allied Professions (ACNAP) and the Association for European Paediatric and Congenital Cardiology (AEPC), where she is a board member. These roles underline her commitment to advancing cardiovascular nursing practice and contributing to the growth and development of the field.
