Kristiina Harju is a general surgeon and a heart researcher from Finland. She works in a multidisciplinary research group combining cardiac surgery, cardiology and cellphysiology and –biology. Regarding her thesis, the group aims to identify novel biomarkers for atrial fibrillation (AF) diagnostics and targets for therapeutical interventions of AF. During freetime Dr Harju enjoys lake with wakeboard, jetski or sup board, she is engaged in forestry work and loves snowboarding ans cross country skiing. She speaks Finnish, Swedish, English and French.
